HeNN elibrary Teachers Training on Sept 18 & 19

Event: Teacher Training

Date: 18th & 19th September , 2014

Venue: Brihaspati Vidyasadan , Naxal, Kathmandu

Purpose

As our elibrary system is to be handled and monitored by teachers of the schools. Students must be taught about elibrary system by teachers. So teachers training seems vital. The main purpose of this training was to train teachers about elibrary system and making them capable to diagnosis frequently occurring problems.

Objectives

• Encourage teachers to use elibrary system as part of teaching methodology.
• Train the teachers on the technicalities that enables eLibrary program
• Make teachers capable of solving problems about elibrary system.
  
  
  HeNN has collaborated with Kathmandu University since 2014 which provides the venue for HeNN to conduct activities like trainings and workshops for capacity development. 
  
  
  Participants
  The training was conducted and managed by the volunteers and staffs of HeNN & Kathmandu University Open Source Community (KUOSC) .
  Following were the participants for training :

  Discussion :
  During the training various problems & their solution were identified. There was various types of
  
  
  
  
   discussion on elibrary system. Basically following topics were covered in detail :
  
  
  • How LTSP system works ?
    
    
  • How to Clamp network wires ?
    
    
  • How to identify basic network problems and solve them.
    
    
  • Basic Linux Commands
    
    
  • Discussion on some major elibrary contents

   Following are problems faced by teachers during active use of system :
  :: Out of range during client system boot
  :: System freezing problem
  :: Black screen appear during use of clients
  :: Whole system freezes everytime after 5 mins system starts
  
  We provided some solution for above problems. We provided notes to them also.
  
  Following are the feedback & expectation were provided by teachers to our elibrary system :
  :: Less number of computers compared to students
  :: Teachers Training should be conducted frequently.
  :: A manual book or teachers guide is required.
